The 10 Best Wrestlers in the UFC

Wrestling and MMA go together like peanut butter and jelly. Put two good wrestlers together, and it either makes for a boring fight or a stand-up war. I've compiled a list of the top 10 wrestlers in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. For those who have read my other two lists and are nervous about the blasphemy they may uncover in this one, I say don't worry. Horrible list. MMA Reporter you're usually spot on, but did you mean best take downs in MMA or do you really mean best wrestler? Either way, the list is totally off no matter which of those two criteria you use. It was good for a laugh. Thanks for sharing.

gsp looks to have the best mma wrestling, but of course there are better pure wrestlers.

Going just by wrestling results, Hendricks and Randy Coture would have to be at the top, no? Unless there are some top wrestling studs in the UFC that I am unaware of.

The only UFC fighter with better pure wrestler credentials I could come up with is Mark Coleman- NCAA champ and Olympic team member.

Dan Henderson was 2X Olympian, Matt Lindland has Olympic Silver, and Jake Rosholt 3X NCAA, all no longer with UFC, have better credentials.

I think Phil Davis has a UFC bout coming up and I would put him on the same level as Hendricks as far as wrestling accomplishments.

Ben Askren (2x runnerup and 2X champ) and Joe Warren (World Greco champ) also have better wrestling credentials, but appear to want to stay in both worlds, so the UFC does not appear likely in the near future for either.

Randy is a shell of what he was, (as is Coleman) during his competitive days and when they earned their accolades. Don't get me wrong, they are still very tough, but it is very misleading to list their credentials and go by that as to where they are now.
