Brock Lesnar Accepts Triple H's WrestleMania 29 Challenge
The long history between Brock Lesnar and Triple H will add at least one more chapter, as the former WWE and UFC champion accepted his longtime foe’s WrestleMania 29 challenge Monday night on Raw.
Not only did Lesnar accept the challenge Monday night—destroying the New Age Outlaws during their match with Team Rhodes Scholars—he added the caveat that he could choose the stipulation of their match at WrestleMania.
After busting Lesnar's head wide open on the steel ring post two weeks ago (h/t WWE.com) and calling out the former MMA star last week on Raw, Triple H got the answer he was looking for when his challenge was accepted.
Lesnar attacked WWE chairman Vince McMahon and forced the company's top executive to have emergency hip surgery (h/t WWE.com).
When McMahon called out Lesnar’s manager, Paul Heyman, two weeks ago on Raw, Triple H knew it was a matter of time before Lesnar himself would show his face, and that is when he planned to attack.
The resulting confrontation was the rekindling of this feud.
This duo had an amazing match at SummerSlam 2012, and the rematch at WrestleMania 29 will be even better. As talented as Lesnar is in the ring, Triple H shines under the bright lights of the WrestleMania stage and will ensure their match is top-notch.
The first meeting was a brutal battle, but the second match in this series will likely be much more violent. Lesnar is not a great wrestler, but he is still one of the toughest humans on earth.
The key to this match’s success will be Triple H agreeing blindly to Lesnar’s deal and the effect that the unknown stipulation—anything from a Falls Count Anywhere match to a Hell in a Cell—will have. A hardcore feel to the match will help the WWE Universe get behind this match.
After watching Lesnar win at SummerSlam, the natural evolution would be for Triple H to get the win at WrestleMania, but that would likely result in a rubber match between these two stars to settle the feud.
Where and when that third match would take place is unknown, but the WWE Universe now knows for certain that this feud will have at least one more chapter—this time at WrestleMania 29.
