Sam Stout Vs. Paul Kelly Set For UFC 126: Superbowl Weekend Show
Fighters Only has reported that Sam Stout and Paul Kelly have a verbal agreement to meet inside the Octagon on February 5, 2011 at UFC 126. The card will be headlined by a UFC Middleweight Title bout between champion Anderson Silva and challenger Vitor Belfort.
Stout will bring a mixed martial arts record of 16-6-1 and a UFC record of 5-5 into the fight. His last bout was a split decision victory over Paul Taylor at UFC 121 in October of this year.
Prior to UFC 121, Stout put together a streak of three consecutive "Fight of the Night" awards with the UFC. The bonus awards earned him a total of $185,000.
Kelly's last fight at UFC 123, ended in a technical knockout victory. The British fighter stopped T.J. O'Brien at the 3:16 mark of the second period.
Kelly's record in the UFC stands at 5-3. Kelly has not lost a fight outside of the UFC, going 6-0 in his fights with other MMA promotions.
Other fights confirmed or rumored for UFC 126 are Rich Franklin vs. Forrest Griffin, Ryan Bader vs. Jon Jones and Miguel Torres vs. Antonio Banuelos.
The event will take place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.
