Channing Tatum to play Dave Schultz in "Foxcatcher" movie

An amateur wrestling match is over in minutes... but it takes months, if not years, to make a mat movie.

Here are some updates about some in-the-works wrestling movies that have been the subject of College Wrestling Examiner articles in the past year or so:

> Tatum to play Dave Schultz in Foxcatcher: Channing Tatum, a 31-year-old actor, has been cast in the role of murdered wrestler Dave Schultz in the new movie Foxcatcher about Schultz' murderer John du Pont, now in pre-production. No release date has been announced.

Among Tatum's biggest movies: Dear John and G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra. He also played a bare-knuckle streetfighter in the 2009 movie Fighting.
