My son is 7 and, thanks to his doubleg, was the TXUSAW champ in his class last year. We moved up this year and thus far he's done pretty good. This past tournament however, several kids were able to counter his double by sprawling, getting the underhook on one side, wrapping the other arm around the head, and walking it around into what I would call a hammerlock half.
I know he needs to suck the underhook down and stop his opponent from circling. Question is, does anyone know where there is a good video of the counter-technique. I need the visual.
This is my boy last year:
Re: Technique question???
John Smith has a DVD on the subject, calling Scoring From a Scrambling Position. It goes through a lot of scenarios when you get stopped on shots, teaches a drag out for the front headlock and underhook defense when you get sprawled on. I'd definitely recommend it
