A sharp-eyed reader emailed me a correction and an addition. Dave McCuskey coached at least TEN members of the Hall of Fame, one of whom was LeRoy Alitz , the longtime coach at the US Military Academy. Among his wrestlers at Army - the Cadets' only NCAA champion, Mike Natvig, and General Norman Schwarzkopf. My apologies for the inaccuracies.
BTW - I have been informed by Athletic Director, Troy Dannen, that the 1950 Iowa State Teachers College champions will be inducted this fall into the UNI athletic hall of fame as a team.
