I wish that Google thingie had worked -I have alll these #'s but cannot use them -Banga is the first name of that Mongolian 174 from George Mason who beat Lucas last year -CAA champion and only has 3 years folkstyle experience . A genetic freak as he outmuscled Lucas ,who could have wrestled 197 . A good flex for the CAA duals later this year . That is why I took Bonano 30-15 as a freshman .

Long story made short -long trade -fell through -Zapp offers me Pataky ,Palmer and Banga for Gallick,Metcalf and Trotman -my back up 25 beat Pataky-just trying to help someone out but this seemed a bit one sided .
We have a slight problem -people are stsarting to pick people already taken , forcing us to recontact them -I am keeping the board updated -any ideas ???

I was out this morning -sat here yesterday and had no groceries -I would've changed Kennedy for you -also-ca you believe the over all quality of the picks ? Especially from guys I have never heard from on the boards before -also ,Herk#1 has gone nuts -2 quality Iowa guys and he takes Sanders and Reader -he told me I had influenced him but he may go nuts .ACC is picking well and you'll have to take Nikko if you want a Buckeye .Russ

I am tired and grumpy and I apologized to Herk although he KNEW and told me he was taking Metcalf when he let me know he had the first pick .I am trying but I am locked out and feel I am letting you down -I am HERE -just useless !!!

Hey can I be part of the fantasy sched!?!?!?!

Hippie -what's up with tOSU's schedule ? No Midlands ,Reno ,Southern Scuffle , your boys are gonna have to stick a lot of people to keep you in the top 6.With Chaires coming off redshirt and Asper coming up in Maryland's line up , 165 has to be the deepest weight in the nation .
  15. View Conversation
Hey Gold, do you have a personal email so i can send you my draft information?
  16. View Conversation
I pretty much figured on that line-up with the exception of 133. I really have no idea who's going to be there. No matter what happens there, the rest of the line up looks pretty damn strong.

    Hippie ,
Guess who got the #1 draft pick ???MOI-that is who !!

Also-get in touch with Architeuthis -he played last year until he went through a messy divorce but might be interested again this year .
    Later ,Russ

Ohio College Week 5 Report

by Gold on 12-01-2010 at 10:26 PM
Week 5:
The fourth week of the season was pretty slow. There was one event, the Northeast Duals, that hosted five or six teams, but other than that, the pickings were slim. As if wrestlers were actually humans and not just animated figurines for my entertainment, most coaches gave their teams Thanksgiving weekend off. Fine. Who wants to watch wrestling on Thanksgiving weekend anyway?

Not all coaches showed this weakness. Last week (in an article that I finished way too

Ohio College Week 3 Report

by Gold on 11-19-2010 at 08:45 PM
The second weekend of the season was an eventful one for Ohio's wrestlers.
In the week's premier story, Penn State freshman and former Graham Falcon David Taylor performed as well as you could possibly hope for him to perform. Wrestling
Bloomsburg's Matt Hickman and Lehigh's Sean Bilodeau, two good opponents who both spent time ranked last year, he scored early and often and ended both matches before the allotted seven minutes expired. He rang up a technical fall over Hickman

Ohio Week 2 Report

by Gold on 11-11-2010 at 06:14 AM
'Twas an opening weekend of mixed results for Ohio's Division I wrestlers. By and large, the youth did great. Only one or two did not meet or exceed my expectations (which is the only true judge of success or failure).
In Blacksburg, Virginia:

Kent State split in their dual meets, pounding Chattanooga 24-12 and losing to a young Iowa State team in a 23-19 upset. Nic Bedelyon posted a pair of beatings over Chattanooga's Prescott Garner (a 15-5 major decision)

Ohio Week 1 College Preview

by Gold on 11-05-2010 at 10:27 PM
For opening weekend in Division I sports, you typically have muted expectations for how much you'll be entertained. If it's football, you know the Buckeyes are going to be pounding on some FCS teams for the first month. In basketball, there's typically a team or two I've never heard of (though I don't follow basketball at all). This weekend, the Buckeye wrestling team will be following similar form by sending most of the team to
the Buffalo Open in Buffalo, New York. There is no

Ohio Collegiate Wrestling Preview: Part 3

by Gold on 11-02-2010 at 09:42 PM
174: The Young but Restless
This is a weight rich in young potential, but light on proven experience. Dropping down from 184, OU junior Nick Purdue has the potential to make a serious splash at his new weight. This is a guy who had some seriously great wins last year--they just didn't come at the right tournaments. His stardom reached its apex when, at the Reno Tournament of Champions, he beat Edinboro's Pat Bradshaw and Wyoming's 2x All-American Joe Leblanc back-to-back to
