Defending Head in the Arm Pit Breakdown

How do you defend the breakdown where your opponent put his head in your arm pit, grabs your wrist with a tight waist and drives you forward? I've heard it called a Tulsa ride too.

A kid on my team, I'm getting closer and closer to beating him and right now. I can take him down, but I can't get out on bottom because of this Tulsa head in the arm pit ride. Usually he tight waist chops, then as I start to come back up he drops his head in my arm pit and ends up getting in an arm bar and wrist and pinning me, or he'll thread the needle.

Clear your inside arm while standing up with hand control. You will need some one-on-one coaching to help you so set up time with a coach or college wrestler to work with. There is almost no excuse for not being able to stand up and escape from anyone especially at the prep level.

My college coach had an infamous line when anyone repeatedly screwed up. He'd say, "You f'd up so I'm going home to think about what I'm going to do to you tomorrow." Showing up at practice the next day to see it was Black Flag day made your heart stop. You learned real fast to work hard at mastering certain techniques.
