Texas Wrestling

so i found out last month my next assignment will be in abilene, tx. I have been working as a volunteer coach in colorado just trying to stay involved in the sport. Curious if anyone had any insight into texas wrestling and what i should expect. My bar is pretty low from what i have heard, but i am originally from GA which has just starting really taking hold of the sport and now i am in Colorado which isnt an Ohio or anything either. Just curious how hs wrestling was and whether there is a present of youth programs around or not.

Texas is definitely an 'up and comer'. They have a couple programs that are growing well on the national level (which always helps at the youth eventually)
