The Fahy brothers, John (H.M. @ 125)* and Matthew, were individual winners for Trinity as the Shamrocks won their seventh straight team title in the Region Four wrestling tournament Friday night at Seneca.

St. Xavier also had brothers take individual crowns in John and Justin Lampe, but the Tigers finished as runners-up to Trinity in the team race, 283? to 261. Trinity, seeking a third straight state championship, won the last four weight classes and eight overall to St. X?s four.

?We wrestled really poorly a week ago and lost a dual match to St. X,? Trinity coach Richard Brown said. ?But the kids committed themselves again and came here to wrestle well tonight.* They worked hard for it.* I?m proud of them.?

With the first four finishers in each weight class advancing to the state tournament, Feb. 17-19, at the Frankfort Convention Center, Trinity will send 13 wrestlers there, just as it did in 2009 and 2010 when it won the grand prize.

John Fahy, a junior and the state champion at 103 and 112 the past two years, won the 125 class by pinning Brock Moore of Manual in 1 minute, 27 seconds. Matthew Fahy, a freshman, won at 119 with a 5-2 decision over Jesus Rosardo of Moore.
