Is this the same Dan Russell who wrestled for Gresham HS in Gresham, OR? That guy was amazing (as was his brother). He went to our rival high school. Even though I was a senior when he was a freshman, I was kind of glad he was a weight class up from me. If I recall correctly, he went undefeated all four years of high school (the only Oregon wrestler ever to do so) and also won at least one D II title for Portland State. Although PSU had a very good program for some time, I always wondered why he didn't wrestle for one of the Big Ten powerhouses. He certainly could have.
