    Default Learn The Cement Job

    http://www.thewrestlingtalk.com/videos/VideoID-461/

Watch the cement job by Galloway on Trent Paulson from 1:30 on.

Notice how he begins the headlock in the center of the mat and snaps him multiple times while moving towards the edge - where its easier to bail out if something goes wrong.

This move is very popular in PA, but it's rare in many states. It's a great five point move from the front head if you're trailing and he is being evasive (and also apparently a good one to hit in the SR national finals when its 0-0.)

Did not know the name for this, but it was used in my area of Ohio back in the day. I used it to stick a regional qualifier in practice. I was a freshman. He was a Senior.

Feel bad for that Paulson guy. He probably never recovered after that loss.

Of course, there are different names for different moves all across the country, but I always called this one a gator roll. The one where you have an underhook and a front headlock and you catch the wrist as you roll, I call a cement mixer. The move I call a cement job is a single leg defense, where you're in a position when he has your leg between his legs (a run-the-pipe position, if that helps) and I either have a whizzer in and have wrist control, or I have an underhook and have my arm over his head. It's a really funky move but it's pretty cool. You literally roll backwards (not a backflip or a funk roll, it's like a backwards somersault) and use the leg that he has control of to elevate him all the way over your head, and then you finish the backwards somersault, finishing on top of him with him broken down. It's way cool

But I've always liked this move as well, either when I need to score big points or it's there and I feel like wowing the crowd. It's always been my dream to hit a big move like that at a huge dual, ever since I watched Martinez get 5 on Ormsbee at the Blair vs. SPG match. A lot of the moves from the front head series are fun to pull off, IMO.

Yeah, I'm sure it has a couple dozen names.

Adam Kieswetter made that move really popular and he calls it the twister. it was his primary move in College at Nebraska-Kearney. I actually teach that move to my kids. Heck I'll give Adam a plug here:
