If he believes in Jesus and he achieved something big, why can he not believe that he did it with God's help?

Re: Slay/Gruenwald
Slay goes further. He says if you want to win Gold you have to believe in Jesus. As a result I have two questions: 1) Did God make Leipold test positive? 2) Why didn't Gruenwald win a gold medal?

Re: Slay/Gruenwald
Its pretty obviously you don't need to believe in God to win a gold... and I'm 100% positive Gruenwald or the Petersons would agree with that. I've never heard/read Slay saying that so I couldn't say that about him.

Re: Slay/Gruenwald
For many years, Brandon attempted to accomplish his wrestling dreams without God, and he only got so far, but not far enough. In 1999, Brandon finished 6th in the U.S. Nationals by clinging to his own life and doing things his way. At this point, Brandon realized his life had no purpose. Only God could bless the desires of his heart.
At the end of 1999, he gave his life completely up to Jesus Christ. With his new spiritual strength, he was able to go from 6th in the U.S.A. in 1999 to 1st in the World in 2000. Brandon’s motto became “Do your best and let God take care of the rest!” He says, “If we are obedient and doing the natural, God will do the super if it’s according to His Will.”

I don't see that saying "If you believe in God, you will win Gold!".
"..if it's according to his will" implies that it is ultimately God's decision as to whether or not he would be successful.

Re: Slay/Gruenwald
God needs to be our Gold, focus, and priority because we can’t serve both God and the Golds of the world. Matthew 6:24 (NIV) says, “No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other.” God has to come first. Matthew 6:33 (Msg.) says, “Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met.”
When we make God our focus and put Him in the center, everything else will come together.

Re: Slay/Gruenwald
"Once you relinquish control, [God] can bless the desires of your heart," Slay says. "I believe I had the potential, but something was holding me back. It was selfishness and pride. I believe God [allowed me to win a gold medal] because He wanted to give me a platform to share my faith."

Re: Slay/Gruenwald
Again, nothing says, "if you believe you will win".. he doesn't seem like a whacko or anything, just really embedded in his faith.

God allowed me to win a gold medal to share my faith?
When we put god in the center everything comes together?
If you don't see these statements weird then excuse me.
