Olympic Favorites from the USA?

Can the 60kg qualifiers try out at 55 or 66 if 60 kg doesn't qualify? I can imagine Mike Zadixk, at least, is big enough to wrestle 66.

I always figured he chose to cut down to 60kg to avoid directly competing with brother Bill. I remember when they both ended up in the finals at Midlands one year (2001, maybe?), and chose not to wrestle the championship against each other.

Yes they can, but Zadick isn't making 55 nor will he make the team at 66.

I remember Dantzler went down to 66 in 2004 when the US failed to qualify the 74 spot in Greco.

Dantzler went down and made the weight, but Irecall he did not do so well at the trials.

As long as we keep training the "American" way we are doomed! We need to make Big our Olympic coach and we will be running away with the Olympics.

Going up and doing well I could see Zadick, Gallick, and Lightner. Going down, if possible, I could see Gomez doing ok if he made the drop but don't know if he can. I'm not sure any of the top 10 could make 55 (except maybe Fleeger, Vasquez, and Bunch..but I highly doubt any of them can make it).

I agree with you on the guys going up, but there is no way Fleeger and Bunch are making 55.
