They said the weight is too small and people are getting bigger. Last I checked billions of people in Asia are around 48-55 kg. Conversely, very few people in the World are over 230 pounds. Certainly not many in Asia. Why such discrimination against Asians? Why do we still have HWT?
Honestly, more men are closer to 50kg in this world than to 120kg.
This doesn't really relate to International swimming/wrestling per se, but is a gripe that I've always had relating to the two, so I might as well say it here.
I think it's such a joke how for every sport other than wrestling, achieving All-American status is relatively easy. For swimming, if you get a certain time in any of the 5 million events at ANY time during the year, you are an All-American. This is like saying that if you beat anyone good during the year in wrestling, you are All-American. I believe the same goes for track. For other sports, All-Americans are voted on by sportwriters, coaches, etc. In wrestling, it doesn't matter how good you are all year, if you have one bad tournament and don't finish top 8, you aren't an All-American. It's just silly how they hand out AA honors in other sports like they are nothing. /End rant
"Now class, I'd like for you to transition from downward dog....straight to FULL BRING!!!"
I can't wait to watch swimming either.

"Good things happen when you wrestle for a full seven minutes." -- Jayson Ness, post-finals press conference
I think you have becoming an All-American mixed up with qualifying for nationals. In the NCAA you still have to perform at the championships to become an All-American, but I'm fairly certain if you clear a certain standard(height, time, etc) you can qualify for nationals.
I will smash your face into a car windshield and then take your mother, Dorothy Mantooth, out to a nice seafood dinner and never call her again!
Tell me about it, this morning, I woke up and I shit a squirrel, but what I can't get is the damn thing is still alive. So now, I've got a shit covered squirrel running around my office and I don't know what to name it.
Honestly I think that most people in the US don't give N. Korea much thought and that includes USOC members. Can you really picture Olympic bigwigs getting together preusing results and deciding that in order to promote capitalism they need to eliminate 48K in wrestling. If you really can picture that I think you are a paranoid delusional.
I guess it makes sense now that you point it out. They did it to punish N. Korea and promote their capitalist agenda. They know if N. Korea won another gold FS wrestling medal it would bring so much glory to that nation, the press would have to stop spreading lies about millions of people starving
and concentration camps and tell the truth about the glorious workers paradise that exists there.
The real question is did the Let It Happen On Purpose (LIHOP)
or Make It Happen On Purpose (MIHOP)?
