    Default Half of European freestyle medalists wrestled for Russia at some point

    I took a look and about 13 or 14 of the 28 European medalists wrestled for Russia at some point. Since many weights had lopsided brackets i figure the number would be at least 75% if the brackets were fairly distributed.

    akzent already did the stats:

    All 7 champs are born in the USSR.
    23 of the 28 medalists are born in the USSR.

    2 in Turkey, 1 in Hungary.

    Only 2 in the west part of the continent: 1 Spain, 1 France.

    This is a new stat. Half were born in Russia.

    here is a new stat, the ussr is huge compared to the rest of europe.

    And yet russia is protesting mussulbes wrestling for another country but none of the 23 other medalists? What is wrong with this picture?
