The guy keeps riding up its going to get there, also they should have put back in par terre not stood up. And what about the first period where france got 2 for nothing? Its best of 3 periods not 1.

That's a medal count, that's not a team standing in terms of how team points are calculated. There is no team placement at this event. Iran has 3 golds, most of any country. Clearly that's fantastic. but there is no team title at this event. There's no point further discussing it because there's nothing to discuss.

They don't award a team trophy like they do at the worlds, so what's the point of complaining about it?

I guess you guys don't understand the concept of what a medal table is. FILA doesn't recognize a team champion here ... it's an individual competition.

France got 2 for a questionable leg foul (defending with the legs). It's over and done with. Nothing's going to be done about it.

I guess someone needs to explain to the rest of the world the difference between team standings and a medal table. There's no team champion, so there's no point to discussing it. I'm saying if this were scored like an officially scored tournament, depth is a mark of team strength vs. being top heavy.

But considering people want to spin things their way, I'll just let you guys continue celebrating something that isn't even awarded.

jimbo, i have problems with the caution in the 1st period; 2nd period - below the waist.

i understand iranian fans - they want to see 2 points there.
every nation sees an action in a different way when their own wrestler loses a match.
russians do the same when commenting the 1st period of the 96-kg final. on russian boards, facebook etc...., you can find thousands of messages (just like on iranian boards where iranians comment the 66-case) saying that the referees were biased and gave rezaei a point against the rules. russian coaches and fans consider totrov the real olympic champ.
their argument - it was rezaei who first touched the blue zone with his hand. but they "forget" to say that according the rules, only a step out (foot), not hand touch counts.

There is no team title to even discuss, so you're whining about winning something that isn't even winnable is odd.

Show me where the Olympics "have always" been on gold finishes. 2 golds is not better than 1 gold, 2 silvers and 4 bronze.

They don't score positions below 10th place. So if Albania had one gold, but Iran had no golds and two silvers, you'd believe Albania finished higher than Iran?

We're arguing about something that doesn't even officially exist. I don't think you speak for the russians. You speak with blind bias towards your country, which is fine, but to pick different scoring rules arbitrarily because it's the Olympics is not only odd, it's illogical.

Picking things that only help your argument isn't seeing the big picture.

I've completely owned you in this argument.
Self claiming you owned someone is sad.

You can disagree with me all day. I don't care, everyone considers the unofficial team rankings based on gold medals. You have seen two tables and Akzent even posted a description of the medal table.

The BBC commentary team even said Iran won the team title. Sure they are not the most educated commentators, however this means that they have been advised by a wrestling expert (Fila or IOC) on rules and traditions.

I think you're odd because you care about this so much, but for some unknown reason. Trolling?

I think these two things are different. As I and you have both said, a push out is scored by the foot or knee going out not the hand.

Guenot got points in the first when no foul was committed. In the second, this could be considered controversial, but it should have been restarted in par terre and it should have gone to a third round (given the first was abdvalis round). These are the rules.
