This is giving a good perspective on just where the current crop of NCAA champs & AAs really stand. & not just this past year but I meant the past few years. I think that this shows that the best folk style kids need some dedicated time in FS to get anywhere. But from the results so far you have to think that Logan & Dake have bright futures in FS.

We're only a few years removed from both Schlatter and Varner making the World Team while they were still in college, Howe won US Nationals while still in college. Burroughs won Worlds six months after he won NCAA's.
I don't think we have to definitively say this.

Notice the guys you mentioned are not great folkstyle scramblers. They are more sprawl and crossface type wrestlers. That translates easier. The folk scrambles cost you points in FS which is why Askren couldn't win gold. It's also why he didn't like FS. He said himself that he didn't like FS rules because you don't need control to score. That looks like the same problem Taylor is having with the FS discipline. It's just a different sport. Stiff and strong wins over lanky and flexible in FS. Obviously not in every situation, but you understand.

Those would be the exception. I was speaking in general terms. Look at some of the multiple AAs who apparently can't win a match or maybe win one.

Stiff in strong may work in the US but does not sem to work so well internationally.

Yeah, but who are they losing these matches to?
Other multiple time AA's and NCAA champions.
