Why Iran did not participate in 1986 and 1987 World Championship?

Iran didn't participate in most of the big events in the 80's and early 90's. If they did they only sent a couple of people. The Iranian Revolution happened in 1979 and then they were fighting a war with Iraq from 1980-1988. Lots of great wrestlers were fighting (and died) in the war and the country was near backrupt.

1979: Iran did not participate in World Championship because of Revolution

1980: Iran Boycotted the Moscow Olympics because of Soviet invasion of Afghanistan

1983:Iran braught back all the wrestlers from Kiev (USSR) because an iranian Greco Roman
wresler, took on an Israeli wrestler (and beat him).

1984: Iran boycotted the US Olympics
