Default Qualifying a weight for the Olympics

How does a country qualify a weight for the Olympics? Is there more than one way to do it? I heard it mentioned on the broadcast briefly but my audio quality was poor and I couldn't quite understand it.

    yes more than one

    World Champs - Top 6
Continental Qualifier - Top 2 (2 for each continent)
    1st World Qualifier - Top 3 (China)
    2nd World Qualifier - Top 2 (Finland)

What are the world qualifier tournaments? Also with the continental qualifiers and the world qualifier if your country qualifies a weight for one then do they not send a wrestler to the other tournament? Or does their placing just not count towards the top six? For instance if Germany qualifies someone at 84 kg through the world championships would they send someone at 85 kilo to the continental qualifier and the world qualifiers?

World Qualifiers are quite similar to Continental Qualifiers, but open to all countries (unlike Continental Qualifiers)

and no, if you qualifies a weight, you are not able to participate in that category in next qualifiers. that's the main reason why they separate these Continental Qualifiers from Continental Championships. (unlike 2008 edition)

for example Iran qualified in GR 66kg today, so Iran can't send any wrestler to Asian and both World Qualifiers in 66kg category.

OK that makes sense, thanks for the replies. Do you know why they require countries to qualify a weight for the Olympics instead of running it like the world championships where every country sends a wrestler?

because IOC wants to limit the total number of athletes in Olympics, and FILA has 344 quotas in general.
