Thread: 66 kg- world championship predictions

Default 66 kg- world championship predictions

The other wide-open weight IMO. So much talent and experience here, without the head-case factor that some of the top 84's seem to have. Still going back and forth on this one. I'm tempted to predict a Hasanov victory (like last year) but he is now 0-2 against Kumar. I still think Shahin is the best guy at the weight but he hasn't shown it lately. Garzon, I presume, is still suspended?

I voted "other" and I don't know who else I would pick but when you have a wide open weight I'll almost always pick "the field" against the group that is supposed to win it.

i vote taghavi, but this weight is the most unpredictable weight of them all, shahin is the first to win two years in a row in a very long time

Picked and will be rooting for (unless he wrestles Teyon) Hasanov.

    Super fun to watch.

Yes, he is. So are Shahin, Kumar, and Stadnik IMO.

Really hoping we don't get a Taghavi/Batirov final

Adam Batirov isn't exciting but Taghavi makes him look like Buvaisar Saitiev by comparison.

If I recall correctly, didn't Taghavi have a few exciting matches last year in the midst of attempting to navigate his hilariously brutal draw?

Not that that would necessarily override how boring he was in 09 when he won his title, but it does show that he has the capability if he really wanted to. Which I suppose just makes him all the more frustrating.
