My favorite wrestler: Ibrahim B?l?kbasi of Turkey. Nice pin falls in both the semis and the finals.

    final vs. Archil Kitiashvili (GEO)

much better and impressive the semifinal vs. Koloy Kortoev (RUS), 2009 & 2010 European and 2009 world jr. champ.
The final in Tbilisi is a rematch of the 2010 European jr. final:

Since Bolukbasi is always focused on one and the same risky throw, his matches usually end up with a pin - Bolukbasi pinning or... being pinned.
End of 2010 he nearly pinned Urishev at a tourney in Russia. Earlier this year he pinned Temrezov (AZE) at the Yasar Dogu tourney in Turkey; and in the finals of that tourney, he executed his favorite throw also vs. Ktsoev (RUS) and was going to pin him but much experienced Ketoev could reverse and... pinned Bolukbasi

A funy match in Tbilisi - Abdelfatah (EGY) vs. Jabidze (GEO).
It was a rematch of their bout at the 2010 worlds.
Last year Abdelfatah won. With Jabidze's blood around his mouth and on his chest, he looked as if had eaten him. )))

In Tbilisi, Jabidze was eager to take revenge on Abdelfatah - wrestling agressively and attacking on high speed, but unclever.

At 1:20 - once again, wiping off Jabidze's blood from his body. )))

In the 74 greco final, Farshad Alizadeh of Iran beat Kvirkvelia (GEO). He nearly pinned him... twice! In the 2nd period, he actually pinned him, but the referee stopped the action (nobody can say why!) and didn't call the pin.

96-kg greco world champ Amir Aliakbar wrestled again (like at Tbilisi 2010) at 120 kg. In the finals, he faced barbarian looking ))) Atilla G?zel of Turkey, best record - 3rd place at the 2008 Europeans.
Aliakbar didn't leave a good impression: a takedown on singlet grab & pooling in the 1st period and a push out in the 2nd one.

I have some screen shots from the live stream of the 74 greco final.

In the 1st period, Alizadeh put Kvirkvelia to his back with a gut wrench. Kvirkvelia escaped.

In the 2nd period, Kvirkvelia had the top position in parterre, tried various moves to turn or throw; Alizadeh countered one of them:

Shown from another camera angle: you see Kvirkvelia gesticulating to the referee. He stopped the action. I don't know why. There was no reason for doing this.

    thanks Akzent,
Alizadeh passed a tough year with several injuries but now he looks healthy.

according to coach Banna, Iran will send a big delegation to Baku and in 3 weights, this tournament will act as world team trial.
Nematpour, Akhlaghi and Akhbari in 84kg, B. Ghorbani and AliAkbari in 96kg, M. Ghorbani and Babajanzadeh in 120kg.
looks like Sourian (55), Norouzi (60), Abdevali (66) and Alizadeh (74) are already qulalified for the World Championship. I think all of them will wrestle in Baku.

to me, this is best Greco team Iran ever had.
