    the quality of some of their WC 2010 online videos is barely watchable. Does anyone know what happened?

    The senior World Championship in the 3 Olympic wrestling styles that took place in Moscow (RUS) from 05 to 12 September 2010 was a great success and beat all records. First in terms of participating countries since all in all 142 countries took part in the competition or in the Congress that preceded it. Then, by the number of accredited athletes and delegation members that reached over 2500. More than 120 TV channels broadcasted the event and the FILA and Russian Federation's websites were litterally flooded with visitors. At last, over 60'000 spectators followed the competitions in the tribunes, with a record number of 11'000 during the last session of the Freestyle finals, and brought an unforgettable atmosphere to the event.
    With regards to the sport performances, the Russian team showed its supremacy by winning the first place in Greco-Roman and Freestyle wrestling with 16 medals in total. Russia was followed in both styles by Azerbaijan whose excellent placement underlines the great development work that has been undertaken by the country over the past two years. The first place in Female wrestling was won by the Japanese team with 2 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medal in front of the Russian and Canadian teams.


    No incident was reported as far as sportsmanship and refereeing are concerned. This fact is not to be underestimated considering that the Championship was followed by a public of wrestling connoisseurs and fanatics. FILA would like to conveys its most sincere congratulations to the 21 World Champions for their outstanding performance, with a special distinction to the Indian wrestler Sushil Kumar who brought a long-expected title to India, a country in which wrestling occupies a very important place.
