Avluca going home without a medal...
His opponent apparently does the worm after the final buzzer sounds.

It'll be interesting to see what team scores look like going into tomorrow. Russia and Iran were the leaders coming into the day but neither country has really set the world on fire in these three weights.
120 kg
Czech vs Kazakstan
period 1- nothing, Czech on top. He tries a hi-gut, Kazak reverses him to his back! Can't quite get the fall before the period ends, but wins the period.
period 2- both guys going for it, Kazak with a duck-under to the back. Kazak holds him for 1 more, Czech bellies out and Kazak guts him for the tech. Protested by Czech team... not sure why but it's not sucessful. Kazakstan wins bronze.
Byers (USA) vs Turkey
period 1- really physical stand up. Byers in the zone for a long time and Turkey pushes him out. Turkey on top, can't score, but wins period 1-0 on his pushout.
Period 2- both guys chest to chest, fighting for underhooks without sucess. Byers on top, lifts and throws but he lands on his own back. Turkey scores the 2 pt counter and wins the second bronze. Tough match for Byers against a great opponent.
Finals
Lopez (Cuba) vs Patreekev (Armenia). Both pretty big studs but Lopez favored. Should be a good one.
Period 1- Lopez the agressor but can't score standing. Lopez on top. Lopez with a belly roll (kind of a lift-gut) and adds a pushout fo good measure.
Period 2- Rough start, Patreekev slaps Lopez prety hard. Lopez pushing him around the mat, scores an arm drag takedown and starts celebrating a bit early. Lopez on top for the par terre, tries to score but Patreekev defends. Doesn't matter, Lopez is the world champ. Patreekev gives him a little shove at the end, but then they hug each other.
Lopez or Sourian- which one is the best p4p greco wrestler in the world?

Kazak sounded impressive.
Knocked off Baroev and then only lost 0-1/0-1 to Lopez so maybe he's a guy to look at in the future.
Lopez takes home his fourth world level gold in a row and fifth overall. He's an absolute beast.
Tough loss for Dremiel but Kayalpp (bronze medalist last year) is certainly no slouch.
A quite bad day as expected ! Nematpour was the main hope but this Isreal draw is always a major problem until these idiots are in charge !
Norouzi beat the Russian so easily but lost to 2004 Olympic Champion in the next match. I'm so disappointed in Ghorbani !
Team Scores
1. Russia: 26
2. Iran: 22
3t. Korea: 20
3t. Azerbaijan: 20
5. Bulgaria: 14
Shame for Iran at 84kg. I don't see why they can't change where Iran is placed... its not like Israel will get past the first round anyway. Iran is the only opponent they can beat and if they wrestled the Israeli would be murdered.
