    Default October Tourneys in Russia

Oct 3-4, Korkin tourney in Yakutsk

Oct 10-11, President Kadyrov cup in Grozny, Chechenia

Oct 17-18, Umakhanov tourney in Khasavyurt, Dagestan

    *****

The first one is over. Many wrestlers from Centra-Asian nations, incl. Mongolia participated; also some good, but not the best wrestlers from Russia.

96 kg - Hrovat wrestled 2 Russian guys who had the position # 5 in Russia in the past 2 years. He beat Kolomiets (5th at the 2008 nationals) and lost to Belonovski (5th at the 2009 nationals). Eventually, he placed 3rd beating a wrestler from Belarus. In the final, Vadim Laliev (who hasn't appered for a long time) lost to Belonovski, "clinch".

84 kg - Baku & Beijing silver medalist Yusup Abdusalamov, who showed a poor performance in Herning, reached the finals in Yakutsk but didn't show up vs. Soslan Ktsoev of Russia in the final match.

Next weekend - Kadyrov Cup in Chechenia
    President Kadyrov announced the prize money: 10.000 USD for a 1st place, 5.000 for a 2nd, 2.000 for a 3rd.

    Kadyrov Cup

    today - 55, 66, 84, 120 kg

Some of the Russian top wrestlers participate, especially at 84 kg - Gadisov, Saritov, Urishev, Ktsoev, Vadim Laliev, Koitemirov, Bataev...

Urishev beat Ktsoev in 2 periods; a controversial call from the clinch in the 1st period.

    semis:
Urishev over Gadisov in 3 periods; 2 times clinch
Saritov beat Laliev 2:1, 1:0 (clinch)

In the final, Urishev beat Saritov 0:1 (Urishev couldn't score from the clinch), 1:0 (clinch); Urishev won the 3rd (don't know how).
This was their 3rd match for the last 100 days. Saritov won at the nationals in July and at the tourney in Poland in August.

    for the 3rd places:
    Gadisov vs. Ktsoev 0:2, 1:1, 1:0
Vadim Laliev beat Muharrem Ersahin of Turkey (3rd at the 2009 jr worlds)

55 kg final: Rustam Murtazaliev over Islam Abuev

66 kg 1. Shamil Batirov, 2. Amir Berukov. Berukov (2009 Yarigin winner) didn't show up.

120 kg final: Fatih Chakiroglu (Turkey) beat Soslan Gagloev (Russia) 2:1 periods, 2:1 points.

I haven't heard of him since the nationals.
Rumors say - your guy, Dudaev will wrestle at 60 kg tomorrow.

    I updated the info above.

I'd like to see Dudaev and Kudukhov. My money's on Dudaev.

Intruiging matchup for sure- the shooter vs the counter-er. Khudukov better have his offense firing on all cylinders, or else Dudaev will stall him out and beat him in the clinch (regardless of how the ball grab tunrs out.)

    today – 60, 74, 96 kg

    some names and results

60 – Alan Dudaev, Murad Ramazanov (35), Labazan Askerbiev, Ramazan Saritov
    final Dudaev vs. Saritov

74 – Irbek Farniev, Alexander Gostiev (2nd at the 2009 nationals), Musa Murtazaliev, Rashid Kurbanov, Muslim Dadaev (good performance at the 2009 nationals), Islam Tsaroev (winner of 2009 Aliev tourney), Shapiev (KAZ).
Farniev beat Shapiev, Kurbanov and Tsoroev and in the final, he will wrestle Musa Murtazaliev who beat Gostiev in a match with many controversial calls.

96 – Andy Hrovat , Anzor Boltukaev, Alen Zaseev, Ibragim Saidov (2nd at the nationals), Ruslan Sheikhov (Blr) , Kurban Kurbanov (Uzb).
Kurbanov beat Hrovat in 2 periods and Boltukaev in 3 periods in the semis.
In the final, he will face Saidov. This will be their 2nd match for a week. Last weekend Saidov beat Kurbanov in the finals of Sagid Murtazaliev’s tourney in Dagestan.
If Hrovat reaches the bronze medal match, he will meet there Boltukaev and this could be a stuff for arm-spin’s “good matches”. Recall Boltukaev vs. Wattenberg at the same Kadyrov tourney in Chechnya 3 years back:

    finals

60 kg Saritov beat Dudaev 1:0 (clinch), 1:0.
Rumors (I tend to believe them) - Saritov's victory was bargained in advance. Yesterday the Chechens hosting the tourney couldn't win and today Saritov was the only Chechen finalist. President Kadyrov (who gives the money for the tourney) should be very unhappy, if nobody from his country placed 1st.

74 kg Musa Murtazaliev beat Farniev 1:0 (clinch), 1:3, 2:1.
In the 3rd period, Farniev once again could hardly breathe.

96 kg Saidov over Kurbanov on push out in the 1st and from the clinch in the second.
In a bronze medal match, Boltukaev beat Hrovat.
