Postponment of the junior Pan-American Championship

Following the last information received about the spreading of the swine flu, the pandemic alert is currently at phase 6, meaning that there is a risk of a worldwide pandemic. FILA, in accordance with the Organising Committee and the Pan-American Council (CPLA), decided to postpone the junior Pan-American Championship scheduled to take place in Guadalajara (MEX) from 23-25 October 2009. The preliminary entries must be sent by 23 August 2009 and the final entries by 23 September 2009. Considering the exceptional conditions that led to the postponement of the 2009 junior Pan-American Championship, FILA allows the Pan-American Federations to participate in the junior World Championship that will take place in Ankara (TUR) from 4 to 9 August 2009 with no restriction in numbers.
