Howd your midlands week go?

That's all I had going this week, but I feel pretty good about it.

Keith was up a point going into the 3rd against Schopp and took down....I thought Harvard kids were smart!?

Until he got "Cartered" and "Clarked". I was impressed with him right up until then. It was a long tournament, I think perhaps he just didn't have much left in the tank by then. He looks ready for the podium though if he can keep improving.

My team generally fell apart on day two.

Ortenzio went 4-2 but unfortunately he lost once on day one and that makes it a long road. He got beat by an underrated Colon it appears.

Kemmerer proved that his ranking was way too high for him. He is closer to a low AA then a Top 5 guy. He went 5-2 but got beat by Keith and Goettl. Goettl looked pretty good but if Kemmerer gets by him he has Ashnault basically to beat to get in the semi's where Maple would have eaten him for lunch. Welcome to the big boy table Mr. Maple. Here is a seat at the head of the table. He looked really great this week.

Lester beat who he should have beaten and generally lost to who he should have lost to. He went 4-2 with losses to Welch and Monk. Monk looked great. Just put his hat in the running for a spot on the podium I think this weekend as well. He was a bonus machine at Midlands and gave Fleming everything he wanted.

Sorenson I think got his A$$ handed to him by a really tough Fittery and then basically cashed it in it looked like against Ben Jordan. He went 4-2. I think Sorenson is a mid AA this year and Iowa State has to be happy overall with how they wrestled at Midlands despite the loss of Spangler. They have some good young ones as we saw at Midlands.

Loder is kind of "right there" with the rest of the 184's. I would have liked him to get a chance to wrestle Hamlin to see where he stacked up but Bennett took it to him good in the semi's. Loder is an AA in one of the deepest weights in D1 this year. He could probably finish anywhere from 8th-1st. Its kind of that close I think with the top guys at 184. Overall not many points. All my chips are at Southern Scuffle this year where I have 7 guys wrestling and I'm hoping to come out of there with 200+ points. I only got 89 this weekend but I kind of look at this week and next week as one total point gathering. I'm hoping for strong appearances from Perrelli, Ortiz/Storley/Simaz and Johnson to lead the way.

Terrible. Finch, Quiroga, Amuch, and Starks all DNW. Yipee! Habat, John, Gambrall, and Cooper scored a combined 46 points. My Scuffle team better kick azz, or I'm effectively done for. Injuries have done me in this year, although that's always a factor, so no excuse. I just suck.

I hope he gets a couple wins then falls down and does a little damage in wrestle-backs. I'm not counting on more than 12-18 from him. I think he can get there. He seems alot better at 157 then he did at 165. Hopefully now in his 3-4 week at the weight he can put together a game plan. I have Lester also at that weight so I'm not dependent on Ortiz. I DO have alot of firepower at 174 though come conference week with Purdue, Luvsandorj and a young up and comer in Storley. Yes, my 174's are available for trade.
