Top 3 separated by 57 points, that's like 3.5 points per week.
GBR wins by the regular season by 5. That's crazy. One more fall & buck wins.
Ok we have to add the NY state Championships & All Academy Championships next year.
Or as I suggested: IF IT IS ON THE TEAM's PUBLISHED SCHEDULE IT COUNTS. This also decides what tourneys are counted & what ones are NOT. The we don't have to argue about it. It might even eliminate some of the ones we do count but maybe shouldn't.
Re: Week 16 Scores If everyone agrees on adding the NY States and the All-Academies, I won't object. But the fact is, they are often really weak. This year, there were 15 wrestlers on Fantasy League Gold rosters from NY State who could have competed at the NY State tournament. Only 2 of those 15 competed - Lister and Schiedel. So the overall impact on the league would have been zero for everyone other than kr, who had both Lister and Schiedel. On the other hand, when the tournament was held at Cornell the previous year, a few more Cornell starters competed.Originally Posted by kr1963
The idea of counting any tournament on a team's schedule makes sense in most cases. However, one notable exception I can think of is in the Ivy League. Since Ivy league teams are only allowed to wrestle 13 dates, they often send their wrestlers to tournaments unattached without having it on the schedule so it doesn't count as an official date. This is true every year of Cornell at the Binghamton Open. Just something to keep in mind.
Re: Week 16 Scores In that case GBR I think that official dates would be the rule & then the others would be listed in the Fantasy league rules of scoring tournaments, IN CASE they aren't on the school's official schedule, (like the BO, along with the CKI, Midlands & SS etc.) That way we cover BOTH.
I think that would be good. Most of the other small tourneys are not listed outside of let's say, the Central Missouri open I think. I haven't seen the Wilkes, or ESU Open or Mat Town or the W&J or other small tourneys, listed anywhere on team schedules.
Also the NYSC & AAC are NOT scored with any sort of bonus like the CKI or Scuffle. It ends up being the equivalent of wrestling 4 duals in a weekend against weaker competition, which several teams do like Virginia, The Citadel or Iowa.
Btw Buffalo & Hofstra were on the NYSC as well as Army & Cornell.

Re: Week 16 Scores gbr is right. The NYS Championships and AAC are terribly weak. I'm not sure why you keep bringing them up as a must-have tourney. It reminds me of the preseason when someone kept insisting that we add the EMU Open in spite of my reservations.

My point is only to approve of stuff that is on the team's schedule. Teams dont include the shitty RS tourneys on the schedule. You say that those 2 tourneys are weak but how are they any different from Iowa scheduling Coe & Cornell in one weekend or Indiana scheduling the Indiana duals with 2 DIII teams? Its not.
Also having Binghamton, Cornell, Hofstra, Navy, Army, Air Force, The Citadel or Buffalo I would not constitute as weak.
Re: Week 16 Scores In all my reviewing of schedules I do not remember seeing the EMU OPen on someone's schedule.
