This is the line on the rules page that refers to the trade deadline. It makes no indication that the trade has to be made by midnight Eastern time. It was just after 11:00pm in Iowa when this trade took place.

The only place in the rules where EST is even mentioned is in the "posting your lineup" section. It is in no way implied that EST is the standard by which all business in this league is to be performed. When you have a league that includes people from all over this nation it needs to be specified, otherwise people should be free to use their own time zone.

I've referenced two sections in the rules that support my position and all you guys can say is "Day late, buck short." Buck may be short but this is not a day late.

I spent the afternoon thinking how crappy it is to rule no on this, but that's the way it's got to be because I've consistently ruled this way.

Then, Herkey's last post just made me realize that this isn't quite true. I've always tried enforced the rules as they are written. So I think I'll let this trade through, even though I had it in my mind that it was Eastern time. Buck and Herkey both are in central time.

We will clarify for next year.
