Ok. So, you only get points for the weight you list your guy as wrestling.
What do we want to do if the guy bumps up for 1 or 2 duals unexpectedly?
KILL the commissioner !!!
I don't think we get those points if they bump up. How will we know if a guy is having problems making weight and they just move him up but say they are just bumping him up? The we find out down the road that he was going to wrestle that higher weight all along. Coaches don't always just come out and say, Hey were moving wrestler x to 141 because he cant make 133. They may play it close to their chest for various reasons until they know for sure.
Thats why I think that if you pick a guy at his normal & the coach bumps him you should still get the points.
My 2 cents and the way I am running my league is wrong weight= no points
Otherwise it gets all complicated and political. Sure it sucks losing points because someone moves up, but how do you determine when a guy is bumping up for the team (a la askren vs kish) or just too fat to make weight? Last year Trusty scored points for Kinser at 149 for half the year even though Kinser was a 157 pounder, until i bitched about it enough that Jensens finally made a ruling.
Or what if someone gets beat out by a teamate like Bennet/Miller?
Its especially weird when you have a backup rule like we have, because then you get a case like Gitomer at the Northeast duals. Wrestles 125 against CMU, then sits out and his backup goes 125, then he goes 133 in the 3rd dual. How are you supposed to interpret/score that??
I think keeping it simple and avoiding all these complicated scenarios is best. People have a flex spot for a reason
Gold is an idiot.
Well then you are subject to CHANCE as opposed to the skill of picking who is hot or not.
Thats like saying injuries shouldn't matter because they are random and can't be predicted... thats just how it goes sometimes.
Guys redshirt, get hurt, or lose their spot, and you should have to make moves to compensate.
I dont think anyone in this league has ANY right to complain about scoring rules... You guys have a free agency, so any time you have a problem you can just snap your fingers and fix it. In our league we have to actually make trades and strategize weeks in advance.
Gold is an idiot.
