    Default Adam Frey's illness

Does anyone think it has something to do with his insane weight cut routines last year? It could have weakened his immune system and caused cancer.

I think we will never know. Clearly, cutting large amounts of weight has many potentially adverse health conditions but I think it would be hard to link up the two. My impression is that cancer is not like a bacteria or virus that the immune system can target and fight off. It is a misregulation of the growth controls on cells that cause them to grow and divide completely out of control. I don't know that oncologists really have a solid idea of what exactly causes cancer. I think they know that there are a variety of risk factors but not how any one exactly plays in.

Most lymphomas are genetic, and don't really have anything to do with the way you lead your life, especially in someone as young as Adam.

Actually some cancers develop due to bacteria entering the body and damaging the organs, causing the cells to multiply abnormally and causing tumors. If your immune system is weak that bacteria has more chance to cause damage.

While lymphomas might be genetic, some get it and some don't. That is because there is a trigger that requires certain conditions to occur.

Actually cancer cells multiply faster in young people once they begin growing because a young body is more conducive to growth.

    Check this out:

    Prevalence
According to the U.S. National Institutes of Health, lymphomas account for about five percent of all cases of cancer in the United States, and Hodgkin's lymphoma in particular accounts for less than one percent of all cases of cancer in the United States.

Because the lymphatic system is part of the body's immune system, patients with a weakened immune system, such as from HIV infection or from certain drugs or medication, also have a higher incidence of lymphoma.

    Also,

Unlike some other lymphomas, whose incidence increases with age, Hodgkin's lymphoma has a bimodal incidence curve; that is, it occurs most frequently in two separate age groups, the first being young adulthood (age 15–35) and the second being in those over 55 years old although these peaks may vary slightly with nationality.[1] Overall, it is more common in men, except for the nodular sclerosis variant (see below), which is more common in women

What does any of that have to do with weight cutting? It's pretty disgusting that you ask this question in the first place, but now you go on wikipedia so you're a doctor? Seriously, shut the hell up.

I guess all doctors should peruse Wikipedia before diagnosing a patient.
I will smash your face into a car windshield and then take your mother, Dorothy Mantooth, out to a nice seafood dinner and never call her again!

Tell me about it, this morning, I woke up and I shit a squirrel, but what I can't get is the damn thing is still alive. So now, I've got a shit covered squirrel running around my office and I don't know what to name it.
