Thread: B1G Champions

  1. #1

    Default B1G Champions

Picks for the B1G finals. A little hard to do not knowing the seedings, so I put in a "could be" pick in case the two selected finalists meet in the semis.

    125: Nico v Delgado could see Clark/Gilman
133 Graff v Ramos could be Thorn
    141 Logan v ZR. Close.
149 Sueflohn v Tsirtsis could be Dardanes. Doubt Grajales has the endurance to win it.
157 Green v Ness could be DSJ. Dark horse Jordan. Hate to bet against DSJ, but Green is a bad match up and Ness is hot.
165 Taylor v Moore. Drops off quick after that.
174 Brown v Kokesh could be Storley. I'll be surprised to see Evans.
184 Ruth v Steinhaus. Could be Lofthouse. I think Steinhaus is rounding into shape.
197 McIntosh v Heflin. Could be Schiller. TJ Dudley as a darkhorse. I think McIntosh's low leg attacks will be too much for Heflin. Not sure what is up with Schiller.
285 McMullan v Coon could be Telford/Nelson v Chalfant/McClure. Tough weight class to call. They may have figured out Nelson. Hard to pick against a two time champ though.

    Champs: PSU 5
    NW 1
    Iowa 1
    tOSU 1
    Minny 1
    Neb 1

    I just don't see it...David Thorn is not elite. I don't think he'll place"

Thanks Jammen. Did Brown and Kokesh wrestle this year?

    184: Ruth over Steinhaus

I have tried to give fair insight the entire year but now it's time to be a homer. My B1G predictions are as follows.

    125- Clark over Nico
    133- Ramos over Graff
    141- Stieber over Retherford
    149- Sueflohn over Dardanes
    157- DSJ over Green
    165- Taylor over Moore
    174- Kokesh over Brown
    184- Ruth over Lofthouse
    197- McIntosh over Schiller
    285- Telford over Chalfant

Iowa has 4 champs and six finalists as they coast to the conference championships. PSU and Minnesota throw their second and third place team trophies in the trash and don't get bashed half as hard as McDonough got bashed last year.

ps I actually wouldn't be surprised to see any Iowa guy do as well as predicted but the chances of them all doing it in the same tournament is rather unlikely.
