Thread: 197, Who ya got?

    Default 197, Who ya got?

This is probably the weight I'm most excited about this season. There were a ton of title contenders I felt coming into the year. Now throwing J'den into the mix it gets even more interesting.

What's the consensus here? Anyone feel VERY confident about their pick?

I'll toss my hat in the ring and give Morgan McIntosh a 30% shot at the title . He has the coaching and the training partners and the INCENTIVE to win it all. McIntosh has more incentive than anyone else to win it?

You know, I think I would rather be a man than a god . We don't need anyone to believe in us. We just keep going anyhow. It's what we do.

Meeks, Schiller, Gadson, Mcintosh and Cox can all win 97. Heflin and Rutt are two weights too high and Rosholt just isn't as good as the others. If I had to pick one of those guys right now I'd say Schiller, but I think Gadson has the highest ceiling this year. I wouldn't be surprised if any of those five guys wins it though.

Gadson has the potential to be a dominant force, but I don't trust anything ISU. I'll say Schiller as well

I'm sorry, but the Gadson love has always confused me a bit. I guess he's a title contender, but I just have never been blown away by the talent personally. Seems like a 3x AA placing 3-6 kinda guy. Could be off. He was only a Soph last year.

Also, I don't think Rutt is up 2 weights. He was a good sized 84 a few years ago. He may be a bit undersized, but I can't imagine by too much. I agree that he's not in the mix for a title though.

I'm not drinking the Rutt kool-aid. He has never had enough offense for me to feel good about him being anything more than a 5-8 finisher

I really think you guys are underestimating Rutt. I watched a freestyle video of him like a week ago where he absolutely manhandles Taylor Meeks. I realize that freestyle and folkstyle are pretty different but after seeing that I think its a little foolish to say that Rutt isn't at lest a contender.
My name's Louden, Louden Swain. Last week I turned 18. I wasn't ready for it. I haven't done anything yet. So I made this deal with myself. This is the year I make my mark.

I think that Cox has a good chance at a title shot. I think he'll beat Rutt at BIG 12's and the go on and wrestle Schiller in the finals at NCAA's.

So I'm saying either Cox, or Schiller.

I'll bet you 1,000 bucks and all my fantasy teams J'den Cox doesn't win Big 12s.
