    Default Dynamic Duos

OK, I'm up for a little trip down memory lane on this one:

With Ed Ruth scheduled to be back 3 months before NCAA championships, I have to consider Ruth and Taylor to be, by far, the two biggest favorites to win at NCAA's this year. It got me wondering, how often do you have two prohibitive favorites like that on the same time? What are some other 'Dynamic Duos' (or Terrifying Triples, etc. ) that you can remember that were so heavily favored the expectation is to bonus everyone the entire season?

A good question. Interested in some of the answers submitted.

You State Penn fans probably have not heard of most of those people I listed since they wrestled before wrestling was invented in Pennsylvania four years ago.

Herkey--some of us PSU fans did follow wrestling before the last 4 years! I can remember watching Gable win his first NCAA title. I would add Dave & Mark Shultz to the group.

Sorry-Herkey. The year Gable won his first NCAA title, Iowa didn't have a single AA!

I cant speak to the ones from the 90s but I disagree with almost all of your recent examples. Andrew Long / Jay borschel were never massive dominating favorites, and long never even won a title. Did Metcalf and McDonough even wrestle on the same team ever?

Metcalf and McDonough wrestled on IOwa's last championship team, Metcalf's RS Senior year and McDonough's RS Freshman year.
Jacob Schlottke---Gone too soon, and the world is a little less bright because of it. RIP, brother.
