I wrestled on the national team with Caleb. Right before our senior year he got into a serious accident and received burns over much of his body. Some thought he would never wrestle again. Not only did he return just a couple months after surgery but he nearly AAed at Fargo and went on to win his 3rd state title. His cousin Brock Ervin who is a junior right now is incredible, just placed at Ironman

I actually thought of you as he put Ness on his back the first time.

Ness looked like he is either ill or seriously hurt. In the final frame he did not attack with any sense of urgency. I hope he is back to full strength by Big Tens or he is in danger of a Craig Henning type(Senior Year) end of season.

I wasn't able to watch it but everybody in the Kentucky wrestling community is going insane right now

I think Caleb deserves the credit. Ness was simply beat by the better wrestler last night. I have been saying since day 1 that if someone actually shoots and finishes around the ankles on Ness he doesn't stand a chance. Caleb proved me right last night because he didn't allow Ness to use his hips and scamble ability to score points. I personally don't think Ness is that good of wrestler. He has been able to get away with terrible technique which you can't do forever. I mean how many dudes can you rico roll before they figure out how to defend it? When I was wrestling the rico roll was a desperation move at the end of a match when you needed a fall to win.

I do think it's a combo of injury, scouting and Ness putting himself in terrible positions. Caleb wrestled him perfectly last night, didn't allow him to pull off his moves. Quite a few wrestlers score a ton of points their freshman season then are forced to adjust when their top move or two is scouted. He's a unique wrestler, that's for sure, but he'll have to refine his technique a bit if he wants to see the finals again this year.

Ness seemed to be leaving himself wide open for caleb to try to move up and look for back points yet Caleb wasn't biting . Looked like a bad 8th grade match from Ness.
