Upsets #2 Jason Welch 8-7
Hit a 4 point move right off the whistle and then got another takedown in the 1st and racked up about 2 minutes of riding time. Gassed out in the 3rd and gave up 2 tds and a stall point but was able to hang on for the win

Gold is an idiot.
All the talent in the world, just has to stay healthy to maximize it.
He was my #1 breakout guy for this year when I did picks this summer.

Great win for Green! I haven't seen him wrestle this year, but it sounds like he gassed in both the Mich and NW matches in the 3rd. Could just be due to it being his first time back after his injury. But, last year he seemed to have wind issues as well. I think that helped D Alton get two very close wins over him. He has tons of talent. Will be interesting to see if when he gets more matches under his belt if his motor can go 3 periods against the tough guys. Definitely a real talent!!
4 point move was a double leg lift straight to the back. Green is starting to look more like Burroughs everyday. Kind of hard to tell whether he was gassed or just stalling to preserve his lead, although after he hit those first 2 doubles brilliantly it does boggle the mind why he didn't continue to use them.
Having seen Green lose to Bonin last year, it was that very "vulnerability" of Green's that Bonin (and Schwab) went after, and Bonin beat him simply by being relentless and never giving him a chance to rest.
It was a great strategy that could be used so much more on people who are vulnerable to running out of gas.
UNI Panthers...Because it's just right.
