Re: Beavers vs Gophers
That is what I heard. I was really hoping that Morhead would come through against Ortiz. I didn't see the match but that loss hurt.
Did you see the match?
How did OSU look at 125 and 133?

You know, I think I would rather be a man than a god . We don't need anyone to believe in us. We just keep going anyhow. It's what we do.

Re: Beavers vs Gophers
Palmer had a big lead on Thorn. Caught him in a headlock so he was up 7-1. Thorn dug deep and took it to overtime and almost got the fall.
Mangrum could barely walk off the mat he was so tired. He used the choke headlock twice to buy time with a stalemate.
RJ Pena ran an arm bar on Danny Z that was one of the best I've ever seen. Incredibly tight.
Steinhaus picked up a tech fall by getting 5 or 6 takedowns in the last minute.
Schiller might not be as good as Minny fans think
Hanke out wrestled Nelson.....

Re: Beavers vs Gophers
Mangrum has had some serious lung issues that need to be figured out soon. I'm sure that Roberts is licking his chops right now to get into the lineup.

Was at the match tonight and agree with you on most all of this. However, I have a different take on Schiller. I would say that Schiller showed way more effort from the feet but Meeks seemed to have more "mat savvy" when to defend against the single leg or shift slightly to defend positioning. I think the combination of more mat time as a starter and maybe bulking up his frame will help Schiller. The cheap NF he gave up bothered me, but the rest of the match probably will prove to be a good learning tool.
Nelson's offense seems to be colateral damage while he tries to keep this winning streak alive. I hope he stops worrying about that and tapping into the freestyle success he had this summer.
Steinhaus's last TD saved the ref from getting shredded by the crowd. Vinson was turtled up on the ground and steinhaus was 3-4 feet seperated from him. KS then spun around and the ref said no change meaning KS never lost control. Iffy call but it didn't affect the end result.....the refs this weekend did a tremendous job in my opinion.
I would be foolish to think I know better than JRob how to handle the roster, but I'm a going to anyhow. Enough with the Danny Z experiment. Yes, he beat #12....is that where all of his fire went for the year? Dolezal showed more fight and scrappiness in losing to a far superior Welch last night than DZ has at any point this season. Dolezal tries creating offense....DZ steps back and sets his forearm on hit knee waiting on the other guy to move. Ugh
We really need the team to get healthy. Storely should be ready to go for the Scuffle. Ness's continued abscense is of great concern, but that's not an earth shattering statement.

Thorn seems to be on a string right now where he's having some underwhelming matches after the crazy fast start.
This match doesn't make me think any less of Schiller's chances, but maybe because thats because I think Meeks is good. Even though he didn't make the podium he had a bunch of good wins last year, and he just beat Haynes last weekend.
Out wrestled or not out wrestled Nelson got the W, coming off a win over the guy who killed him last year last week I've got to say right now I'm more than satisfied with how he's wrestling.

Maybe it's because his crazy fast start was not that big of a deal considering the season Bonanno is currently having.
