Kudos to NIU's Rob Jilliard for winning this tourney, I think he's up two weights from last year and is looking good so far this season. Biggest surprise was Elben of Missouri beating Rutt of Oklahoma in OT.

Know its still early in the year and he's just doing it against unattached guys, but Zane Richards looks like he's going to be REALLY tough for Illinois next year.

If Gilman can finish his shots when he gets in deep he is going to be damn near impossible to stop. I thought that he looked significantly better from neutral than both Clark and Jarrod Patterson (his two losses on the year) but was unable to finish. He had Clark's leg up in the air multiple times and was unable to finish (something that seems to be a problem with too many Hawkeyes).

Patterson makes a living of countering shots so I can't agree that Gilman is better than him in neutral. He may be the aggressor but Patterson is making Gilman play his game and getting the TDs.

Haven't watched Patterson wrestle much. If that's his style I'll agree with you

Eblen putting together one heck of a year so far. Beat Larson in the wrestle off, majored Rogers from Okie St, and now beating Rutt. Wish we could've seen him at the Lindenwood Open though

Why isn't Eblen starting? He won the wrestleoff and appears to have more wins against top guys. Not that Larson is a slouch
