Hindsight is always 20/20, and it's easy to look now and say, "What an IDIOT for taking down," but most people would have taken down, coaches would have coached him to take down, and I would have taken down myself. You wouldn't expect Dake to keep riding, just for the sake of riding.
Why was Molinaro's choice even more practical that what I just said? Because the only other match that those two wrestled before Molinaro DID escape from Dake in the down position, quite easily, at that.
As I said, hindsight is 20/20.
