I was at Iowa States wrestle offs last night. It was a nice little program. Much different than how Iowa runs theirs. Much more fan friendly. However, I think theres something to be said about cramming into the Iowa wrestling room to watch them square off. anyways...
There were a couple of good matches. The overall feel was pretty poor. I thought most of the wrestlers lacked intensity. But that could be because they were wrestling friends.
Finch and Larson had many good scrambles. Finch always came out on top. He gives up his leg too easy though. Larson got in on him multiple times but never could change off.
Meeks is very quick and so is Terukina. But Meeks is quicker. He needs a lot of work from the mat but he showed many good things from the feet. He turned it on in the third too which was good to see.
Moreno came out and took down Goettle right away. These two went into OT. I think they would split 5-5 if the wrestled ten times.
Tanner Weatherman beat Mike England in 2OT. Kind of a chess match. I dont' think this weight is settled after last night. Either guy will do fine.
Wish I would have saw Gibson and Queen Smith wrestle but got to see Gibson and Swope instead. Gibson Tf'd him in four minutes. The clones better hope that Smith is able to wrestle after this year.
