McD vs Stieber
No, I'm afraid this isn't an announcement that the two are wrestling. But with all the talk about the Dake vs Taylor match-up I thought it'd be interesting to speculate who would win between the two. That would be another dream match-up. What do you think? My money (if I were a betting man) would be on McD; but I think it'd be a great bout.

If they can somehow do a catch weight it would be close, but I'd have to go Steiber if McD bumped up.

I'd take Stieber (freestyle Bias talking).

Re: McD vs Stieber
Toss-up. If they are wrestling at the same weight there is no favorite. Stieber might be a little flashier than McDonough but he hasn't proven that he is more consistent or better in folkstyle. Stieber's loss to Chris Dardanes last year is equivalent to McDonough's loss to Delgado and we'll ignore the Oliver loss simply because McDonough doesn't have a wrestler of that quality at his weight. If this match were happening at NCAAs or Big Tens where McDonough seems to get stronger and control opponents that beat him earlier (Delgado, Precin) I would take McDonough. If it were occuring early in the season when Matt was still feeling the cut I would be more inclined to pick Logan. At this point they had similar seasons last year and McDononough has had the greater body of work. We could be talking about Stieber like Kyle Dake in a few years or we could be talking about him like Dustin Schlatter...

Re: McD vs Stieber
Stieber wins this. McD uses power, and Logan would neutralize much if not all of Matt's power. One of Logan's best qualities is his physical strength. I think McD beats True Freshman Logan, but as Logan has grown and improved, I don't see how Matt wins. Down at 125 it's a different story, but Logan isn't at 125 anymore.

Hunter would win. His length would neutralize McD's normal advantage against 125'ers.
We have met the enemy and they is us.

I knew someone would call me to count on not specifying which Stieber!

He's wrestled one full season and won one NCAA title matching McDonough.
How could he be less consistent given his resume so far?
