I'm surprised too that Iowa isn't there. They're normally stalwarts at it. Their team isn't overly young--lots of veterans back--so wonder why they aren't going this year? I'm sure Brands has a reason.

Well, after a little checking, I guess its because they are in the grapple at the garden 2 weeks before. Not sure this is the reason, but I guess it's possible, even though Maryland and Hofstra are doing both, can anyone confirm this is the reason?

Much like when Iowa didn't attend National Duals, Tom goes to tournaments/events only if he thinks it will help them for NCAA's. If he thinks it'd be better for them to have a weekend of training instead of competing, that's what they'll do. I don't believe this is a scheduling conflict.

As a fan I wish Iowa was there, but like vais I trust that Brands knows how to handle his team better than I do. I am still hoping that a couple of their true freshman go and compete unattached. I would like to see how Brooks, Clark, Gillman and Skon fair against the field.
