I seems clear that Hawkeye Nation's concern for this young man is directly proportional to the value he can provide Iowa on the mat.

I just think there is a faction within that really only cared for what he could do on the mat, from a team points perspective. Now that he is no longer able to help in that way, I dont expect these same people to come to his side to help him. I could be wrong, but I dont think I am. If he wasnt the stud he is in the first place, he would have been long gone after the first couple of transgressions. And yes, the same can be true of other programs with other wrestlers who have gotten themselves in trouble.

Classic trolling response.
Sucks that Montell seems to be following old habits, I only hope that he can figure his stuff out before he's spending serious time in prison.
And I do get a kick out of anybody, even a guy I like in Jensen, implying something against a fanbase for caring less about a guy after he's off the team. That's going to be the feeling of the majority of people throughout all of team sports fandom. I doubt Gopher fans would be rallying to the cause of, say, Mike Thorn if he was arrested for something.
Jacob Schlottke---Gone too soon, and the world is a little less bright because of it. RIP, brother.
One, two, Evans is coming for you...
We should do much less rallying for any college athlete and hold them accountable like any other individual that behaves in such a manner.
