Regarding psus POTENTIAL finalists in megaludis, alton, alton,dt,ruthand wright.
I clearly missed the memo that the Altons were bonafide badasses. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't one of them even fail to AA? Yet you count them both as possible finalists while brushing off Tessari's result as a weak weight class. Haha! It's all good.

I won't try to speak for Vais (he can certainly take care of answering for himself!). As a 4th place finisher as a true FR, Tessari is certainly in the mix! That was an impressive result regardless of weight class strength or weakness. But it must be admitted (and since my school had the champ it reflects on us as well) 149 was not the toughest weight class last year. When AA didn't AA, it was in a much tougher weight class. He came one bout short of AA'ing, losing to a guy that he had beaten twice earlier in the year. Almost all of his losses that year were by 1 or 2 points to basically top-4 guys. I don't know who will place higher between AA and Tessari but it sure will be fun to see them square off. It's a shame that Tessari was hurt for the dual last year and we didn't get a Molinaro-Tessari match-up.

I invite you to look at the guys who AA lost to his TRU freshman year. I see your point. Alton is just one of many guys i could see beating Tessari, just as there are guys who could beat AA. It is a loaded weight.

You know, I think I would rather be a man than a god . We don't need anyone to believe in us. We just keep going anyhow. It's what we do.

Its hard not to see PSU running away with it next year. The thing is, there are teams like Iowa, Minnesota, and Ohio State that might have a shot at 7 or 8 AA's next year, but they simply don't seem to have the firepower to be able to compete with PSU.

Minnesota, Ohio State, and Penn State all return 5 AAs next year, while Iowa returns 6. The difference is that PSU is returning four FINALISTS, two of whom have to be considered significant favorites to repeat as champs. Minnesota and Ohio State are going to have a lot of guys hovering in the 5th-8th range in my opinion. A team like Oklahoma State might match PSU champ for champ, but they don't have nearly enough depth.

Realistically the only team I can see with a chance to dethrone them has to be Iowa, because I could see a guy like Ramos stepping up and winning a national title and they have McD and St. John as anchors, as well as plenty of depth.

Don't get me wrong Tessari had a great season, but his weight really was quite weak. He also finished the season with 11 losses, many of whom were to guys who didn't make the podium. Dylan had 6, half of which were to that years finalists Dake and St. John and he ended up taking 3rd over Jason Welch.

Andrew had a disappointing end to his season but his weight class was absurd that year. 9 of his 10 losses were to Kennedy, Russell, Marion, or Thorn, all of whom were multiple time AAs and title contenders.
