Oklahoma State will host the National Duals finals

I hope they get a better turnout than the regionals. Seemed like attendance was a little light from everything I've been reading.

I don't think having it at OSU is the best thing if NWCA wants the NCAA to pick this event up. If they waited that long to announce where the finals would be held why not put it at a neutral site between the 4 teams? Iowa, MN and ILL fans could all go to Des Monies, IA. The IA high school state meet is going on and most would stay and attend since they are in DSM already. I know people will blast me for this but it just makes no sense when 3 of the 4 teams are within several hrs of each other but instead they put it to far away for most IA, ILL and MN fans to attend. Why not have it in MN so IA, ILL and MN fans will attend instead of maybe a few IA, ILL and MN fans? OSU doesn't get nearly the following at home events that IA or MN get so not sure what the NWCA was thinking by selecting OSU. Doesn't make any sense and I predict the turnout to be low since it is to far for most fans from the other 3 schools to attend.

I agree. Also, planning ahead on where it would be would give folks a chance to plan ahead on plans to attend which could be cancelled if their team did not qualify.

Not sure why you couldn't have the #1 Team as of December 1st have the option of hosting.

I like the way that they set this tournament up, but the fact that going into this weekend they hadn't announced where the finals would be kind of feeds into the argument that Sanderson was making that the logistics for this tournament have been very rushed.

I agree that not knowing where the finals were going to be held was bad, however I REALLY like the fact that the 4 regions took place in different areas. If you live on the west coast, east coast, southwest, south, etc. then you don't get many opportunities to see a major wrestling event other than your respective conference tournaments. I would love to see a region hosted somewhere like the Deschutes County Expo center (close to Bend), Taco Bell arena (Boise) Spokane arena, Memorial coliseum (Portland), or even the Tacoma Dome would be great. I also like the idea of having it put on by the NWCA. I would like to see the NWCA add some other exciting duals to the Mat Mayhem as well. Why not invite some of the regions top High school programs to dual along side the college teams?

This years tournament is what it is...a great idea, but executed very poorly. Let's hope the NWCA is open to feedback and makes some improvements next year. Rome wasn't built in a day...
