By that logic you could say that Iowa deserves a #1 seed more than Minnesota. Ohio State also lost to Nebraska.

Cornell is more deserving than Minnesota who is more deserving than Ohio St who is more deserving than Iowa who is more deserving than Cornell College.
If tOSU and Iowa were in the same region I just think tOSU would have gotten the #1 seed due to the fact that they have identical records and won the H2H. Sorry I didn't explain my logic more thoroughly. Fortunately, we don't have to worry about it!

I'm not sure the #1 seed really matters as long as you win the Regional. To be the best, you have to beat the best.

Re: National duals pairings released .
Well I agreed on one thread that it should have been Regionals of 4 or 8 to avoid that but then again the #1 and the #2 seeds both get byes. I'm not sure any seed below the top 8 teams in the country would win so I don't think in this instance this year it is going to effect a team that would have been able to win but I completely agree. That's asinine to make the lower seeds "wrestle in" to the Regional Semi's.

That wasn't my point although I can see how it could be taken that way. I was referring to the draws that the other #1 seeds got as opposed to the seed Iowa got. Ok St. has a top 6 team as the #3 seed in its region, for example, and Iowa has the #29 team as the #2 seed in theirs. The organizers weren't taking any chances on Iowa missing the final four.

As a Buckeye fan, I'm just glad they get another shot at Nebraska to avenge part of the worst weekend of the season...followed by Stieber vs Oliver. I'm satisfied with the seed for precisely these reasons.
Until the event is for real, we should just enjoy the matches.

Yes, I think there is opportunity to improve the tournament but I'm excited to see it no less. And I credit Wisconsin for coming. They will very possibly not score 10 points all weekend but they will leave a better team for next year.
