MOUNT PLEASANT - Central Michigan head wrestling coach Tom Borrelli has finalized a 2011 recruiting class that includes 13 individuals and ranks among the top classes in the country this year.

The class includes five individuals ranked among the top 100 recruits nationally, including two in the top 20. A sixth recruit, not ranked in the top 100, owns a victory over the nation's No. 1 overall prospect in the 2011 recruiting class. The class is ranked No. 3 nationally by InterMat, TheOpenMat.com and D1CollegeWrestling.net.

"I think this class has the potential to do some very special things at CMU," Borrelli said. "Only time will tell how their transition to the next level of wrestling will transpire, however, they were all very special high school athletes and we are excited to have them join our program."

Central Michigan claimed a share of its 12th Mid-American Conference title in 13 seasons and won its 10th straight conference tournament championship in 2011. The Chippewas finished tied for 13th at the NCAA Championships, their fifth straight top-15 finish and seventh in the last eight seasons.
