Earl did this last year for the class of 2005 and it was really cool to look at then, this one is no different.

    Top 10 Recruits

    2. Henry Cejudo (OTC)
    3. Mike Grey (Cornell)

    6. Billy Murphy (Iowa)
    7. Mack Lewnes (Cornell)
    8. Dave Rella (Penn State)
    9. Ben Ashmore (Oklahoma State)
    10. Jon Reader (Iowa State)

    Top 10 Performers
    1. Jordan Burroughs (Nebraska...#94 recruit)
    2. Lance Palmer (Ohio State)
    3. Mack Lewnes (Cornell)
    4t. Jon Reader (Iowa State)
    4t. Anthony Robles (Arizona State...NR)
    6. JP O'Connor (Harvard...#16 recruit)
    7. Jimmy Kennedy (Illinois...#30 recruit)
    8. Bubba Jenkins (Penn State...#46 recruit)
9t. Darrion Caldwell (NC State...#34 recruit)
    9t. Brandon Precin (Northwestern...#43 recruit)

Will be really interested when he does this for the class of 07 next year given the struggles that the top two guys in that class wound up having in college.
Are these Earl's recruiting numbers? Or Intermat's? I can't imagine that the number's would be significantly different but just curious. I am wondering who did the analysis & what was the criteria for some to put JB at #94, (for example). This isn't a criticism of course as hindsight is 20/20 but I think it would be interesting to look at.

I am also thinking of this as the NFL draft was last week & there is so much emphasis on breaking down a guys skill set. They also like to break down the busts & blockbuster picks as well.

This could also serve up an analysis for "Coaching up" & rating coaches as well.

    They were Intermat's...

Burroughs was the #94 recruit because he didn't win a Jersey title until he was a senior, him being there really isn't much of a stretch.

in 2004 Soph Burroughs did not place, but Soph Darrion Caldwell won the 119 lb title and Soph Mike Grey won the 122 lb final

in 2003 Burroughs did not place but Matt Valenti (Kittatinny) won the 119 lb title
Frank Perrelli, Cornell won at 112
Mike Grey, Cornell won at 125
Frank Molinaro, Penn State won at 140
    Scott Winston, Rutgers grabbed 145

Life's not the breaths you take, the breathing in and out that gets you through the day ain't what it's all about. It's the moments that take your breath away.

Wow, what a state line-up in 2003 or 2005?? That would make one fine team as KR noted. I wonder if you have 2003 and 2005 reversed, as the wrestlers won at lower weights in "2005" than when they wrestled in "2003"? Anyway, thanks for sending that--NJ may well have had the best state champs of any state in the country that year (at least in terms of how they did in college).
