I went back and watched EVANS/THOMUSEITT and THAT was a great match !! i don't see EVANS being a dominant wrestler in the big 10 -what weight will he wrestle ? gambrall has 184, Byers 197,-IOWA has a stabile full of studs from 157 to hwt.

Most Iowa fans have him beating Lofthouse out for the 174 spot (despite the fact that he lost both the wrestle off and their match at Midlands) or are hoping that Lofthouse leaves to go on his mission and Evans gets that spot by default.

I think tony ramos starting this year proves brands puts very little stock into the head to head results with teammates.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone type that they would like Lofthouse to leave for a mission. And nobody has ever said they want a guy to get a spot by default. Iowa fans want the best guy at the weight no matter who it is. Head to head competition between two guys that wrestle each other every day is rarely a good way to guage who is better. I'm sure they will both get shots and probably the spot will be determined by who is projecting himself as the man to beat nationally, of the two. Lofthouse beat Evans as Mike was a true freshman and very green. I have no idea who will win the spot as of now but I think Mike will be much better by the time the season starts compared to last year when they wrestled.

I believe lofthouse will be much improved and if evans can beat out lofthouse, that's better yet.
