Thread: One up, one down

    Default One up, one down

So, what if all the NCAA champs were to challenge the wrestler one weight heaver and lighter than they are? Matches take place at the heavier weight (ie Robles wrestles Oliver at 133). Let's see some predictions:

    Robles vs Oliver
    Oliver vs Russel
    Russel vs Dake
    Dake vs Jenkins
    Jenkins vs Burroughs
    Burroughs vs Reader
    Reader vs Wright
    Wright vs Kilgore
    Kilgore vs Rey

Reader vs Wright might actually happen at the US open or WTT

I really like the thread too.

125 v 133 Oliver (Who knows with Robles, I think Oliver may be big enough to stay with him, Oliver a little too slick)
133 v 141 Oliver (Oliver a little too slick for Russell, I think Oliver would find a way to take down Russell a couple times)
141 v 149 Dake (Dake would ride Russell all match)
149 v 157 Jenkins (Would be fun to watch, think Jenkins wins a close one)
157 v 165 Burroughs (Pretty sure Burroughs would dominate here, way to strong and fast)
165 v 174 Burroughs (Burroughs is too fast, I think he hits that double on Reader and wins a close one)
174 v 184 Reader (great match, could go either way)
184 v 197 Kilgore (I think Kilgore too strong for wright)
197 v Hwt Rey (Rey too big and would dominate on top imo)

    Burroughs over Reader
    Reader over Wright
    Wright over Kilgore
    Rey over Kilgore

I just picked three undefeated guys to lose. One of them I picked to lose twice.

    Very cool thread idea...

25 v. 33: Oliver (Too mobile, able to find TD's some place and not give them up)
33 v. 41: Oliver (Similar to above, Oliver wouldn't let it get to OT)
41 v. 49: Dake (Dake is basically a bigger more offensive version of Russell)
49 v. 57: Dake (Dake is able to ugly the match up and win similar to how Hall beat Jenkins at Vegas and at Pac 10's)
57 v. 65: Burroughs (I think Jenkins beat him when they were at 149 as sophomores, but Burroughs is too big and too good now)
65 v. 74: Burroughs (Finds a way to get his points on the feet, doesn't get turned)
74 v. 84: Wright (Wright uses his height and length advantage to score with his goofy half shot/half trip moves)
84 v. 97: Kilgore (Part of Wright's problem earlier in the year and when he got back from injury was getting muscled around, Kilgore would muscle him around)
97 v. 285: Rey (Don't see how Kilgore would score, 1-0 win for Rey)

Oliver over Robles-Oliver would figure it out and is 5x the athlete mcd is.
Oliver over Russel-Oliver would just be aggressive, get the TD, and Russell would have to actually shoot, so he'd lose.
Dake over Russell-Kid Dynamite is Russell with offense and a tougher ride.
Dake over Bubba-Rides the piss out of Bubba, and won't get caught.
    Burroughs over Bubba-In a LAUGHER.
Burroughs over Reader-Not gettin to Burroughs legs, but he's getting to yours son.
Wright over Reader-Wright just too varied offensively and too much length for Reader to contend with.
    Wright over Killer-See above.
    Rey over Killer-Not even fair.
